This article reviews research findings on the impact of cultural sensitivity in healthcare, its challenges, and best practices for its implementation.
To understand the impact of cultural sensitivity in healthcare, a comprehensive review of literature published between 2010 and 2023 was conducted. The databases searched include PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar. Keywords such as "cultural sensitivity in healthcare", "cultural competence", and "patient care" were utilized. Studies were included if they were published in English, focused on the healthcare setting, and provided clear outcomes related to cultural sensitivity. A total of 32 articles were identified and analyzed for this review.
The findings from the reviewed literature suggest a strong correlation between cultural sensitivity and improved patient outcomes. Key results include:
